Anastasia R. Todish

Anastasia was born in Northern California to a family of artists and musicians with a counterculture aesthetic. Trained by her grandfather in the use of watercolors, with hopes that she might become a Painter, she found herself focusing on clothing more than landscpaes and human form. During her childhood, she encountered the work of Eiko Ishioka, a Japanese costumier well known for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Cell, and more recently Mirror Mirror. From the first glimpse of a green gown, Anastasia knew what she wanted to do in life.

Originally focusing on bohemian and costuming, Anastasia chose to forge her own path, far different from those of her parents, and aimed for the runways of New York and Paris. She began her education at the Academy of Art University in 2010, after a brief stint at a community college, where she showed twice in the Butte Fashion Show.

Presently, Anastasia is finishing her education with a BFA in Fashion Design -anticipated Fall ‘14- and will be relocating to New York within the year. Her most recent project returns to her boho and Californian roots, with an emphasis on Light and natural colors found in the landscapes of the west, as well as the reimagination of established garments and ideals.
